Alumeco acquires metal wholesale competitor in Poland

With the acquisition of Aluteam of Poland, Alumeco seeks to consolidate its position in the Polish market as well as to enhance servicing of the many Danish and other Western European companies that have set up business in Poland in recent years.

Poland has long been a market of strategic interest to Scandinavia’s largest aluminium wholesaler, Alumeco. Now activities are being expanded in Poland with the acquisition of wholesale competitor Aluteam – and the establishment of a subsidiary, Aluteam-Alumeco Sp. z o. o.
The objective is to consolidate Alumeco’s position in the Polish market, which has not been affected by economic ups and downs in the same way as other Eastern European and Baltic markets.

Standard goods and special solutions

As far as customers are concerned, the new constellation means a business partner which provides access to a wide range of standard goods and expertise in special solutions. This is primarily for aluminium, but Aluteam-Alumeco Sp. also includes brass, copper and bronze in its range.

For customers, 1+1=3

Aluteam-Alumeco Sp. will service companies throughout Poland from its head office in Rzeszow and a division in Wrocław, employing a total of 25 staff:

“In Aluteam, we have found the right partner, so we are now in a stronger position than ever to service the Polish market. At the same time, we are well placed to welcome Danish and Western European companies setting up activities in Poland. That’s the whole idea of the partnership, where we believe 1+1 equals 3 for our customers,” according to Thomas Wulff, export manager at Alumeco, charged with responsibility for activities in Poland.
